BIOGRAPHIES | Hyejin


EDUCATION
Hyejin started her violin lessons at the age of 9. She studied at Seoul Arts High School until her junior year. She studied with professor Cho Young Mi in Korea. After her junior year, she went to Hong Kong to continue her education at Hong Kong APA and studied with Takako Nishizaki. After earning the Advanced Certificate at Hong Kong Academy for performing arts, she went to Russia to study at the Moscow State Conservatory named for P. I. Tchaikovsky and studied with S. I Kravchenko and got her Doctor of Musical Arts in 2011. She speaks fluent Russian and did her thesis in Russian.

COMPETITIONS
Hye Jin has won various competitions in Korea such as Music Journal, Sejong University, Chosun Daily News Paper, etc. in Hong Kong, she has won the Concerto Trial of Hong Kong APA for many years. She has also won numerous international competitions such as Togliatti International Competition of Young Musicians Russia (2007-1st place), International Young Performers Competition Finland (2007-Grand Prize), The 16th Music and Earth International Competition for Instrumentalists and Composers (2008-Grand Prize) and Ippolitov-ivanov National University Young Talents of Russia Competition (2009-1st place).

PERFORMANCE CAREER
After her first concert debut with the New Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra in 1993, Hyejin has enjoyed an international solo career in both Asia and Europe. Her collaborations with orchestras includes the Vienna Mozart Orchestra, the Obninsk Chamber Orchestra, the Moscow Chamber Orchestra of Paul Solbodkin Centre, the St. Petersbutg Camerata Orchestra, Symphonic Orchestra of Russia State Music Tele-Radio-Center and the State Symphony Orchestra of Udmurt Republic.
